Fortum Circo® recycled plastic is a sustainable substitute for virgin materials. Thanks to our improved plastic recycling process, the carbon footprint of our basic grades is now up to 70% lower compared to virgin materials. Life cycle assessment (LCA) Study
The Fortum Circo® LCA study (2019) assessed the potential environmental performance of our plastic refinery and recycling process as well as the environmental benefits of using Fortum Circo HDPE, LDPE and PP plastic granulates compared to virgin granulates.
Carbon footprint study
The Fortum Circo® Carbon footprint study (2023) is an update of the climate change impact section of the previous LCA study (2019). The new study also includes the carbon footprint of Fortum Circo compounds that are supplemented with selected additives to improve the technical and environmental properties of the material.
